Shepherd Chemical Earns Two Safety Awards

The Shepherd Chemical Company has been presented two awards recognizing its safety performance from the Greater Cincinnati Safety Council. Shepherd earned the Council's Achievement Award given to businesses which are able to reduce their incident rate by at least 25%. Shepherd also earned the Special Award which is given to businesses who work at least 500,000 man-hours and six months with out an injury resulting in a day or greater away from work.
While accepting the award, Rob Paxton, Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety for Shepherd Chemical noted "this award represents a step in our ongoing journey towards a completely incident free workplace". The award was given for safety performance in 2008.
Shepherd Chemical operates four plant sites globally and has implemented a series of training, inspection, and reporting programs towards a safe and injury free workplace.
