Shepherd Chemical recently completed an expansion to its metal organics manufacturing facility in Norwood, Ohio. The expansion included a new reactor which will allow it to increase its manufacturing capacity over the previous levels. The action was prompted by Shepherd Chemical’s desire to insure complete supply reliability and customer satisfaction for its Metal Organic Prodcuts.
Shepherd currently has two locations which manufacture this class of product. The expanded site in Norwood, Ohio is complemented by a second site in Mirecourt, France. Shepherd Chemical has the capability to manufacuture many of the same products at both locations further increasing supply reliability within the Sheherd network. Gary Conrad, General Manager of Shepherd Chemical noted that “Our commitment to leadership in the Metal Organics product line requires us to periodically evaluate our global capacity relative to anticipated demand.”
Shepherd Chemical has been manufacturing Metal Organic compounds since its beginnings in 1916. Over the years Shepherd has been involved in numerous markets which require these unique and functional products. Today, Shepherd Chemical is one of the leaders of cobalt based rubber adhesion promoters which are based on metal carboxylates and are used to insure good steel cord to rubber adhesion in the manufacture of radial tires. |
