Shepherd Hires Technical Professional to Increase its Development Staff

Shepherd Chemical is pleased to announce the addition of Alex Polley to its technical staff. Mr. Polley has a BS in Chemistry from the University of Illinois where he worked on dendrimer synthesis in Dr. Steven Zimmerman’s research group.  Mr. Polley will support Shepherd Chemicals efforts in the area of new product development. In this capacity, he will contribute to Shepherd’s focused response to customer’s requests for new and unique compounds.  Shepherd Chemical’s Chief Technical Officer, Dr. Jeff Sullivan, states that “a rapid response to our customer’s requests is an important aspect of our business model.  One of our strengths is a customized approach to each project which calls for a greater emphasis on the development and scale-up processes”

Shepherd Chemical has been developing and manufacturing custom metal compounds for over 90 years.  The company’s focus is on areas in which a customized product can achieve a greater value in the application at the customer.  In the current competitive environment, Shepherd preferentially directs it resources toward the development of new products with its customers.  Mr. Polley’s skills and abilities will contribute to this strategic direction.
