The Radial Tire Industry has used Cobalt compounds for adhesion promoters in wire coat compounds for more than 30 years, because cobalt carboxylates add to the long term adhesion of rubber to brass-coated steel. Heat and humidity-aged properties are improved by the Cobalt mechanism.
