Our Sales and Marketing Department is staffed with product and market specialists, all with technical degrees, responsible for coordinating the various support activities required by the customer, analyzing customer requirements and offering the most suitable products to meet the individual needs of each customer.

The Shepherd Chemical R&D Department is staffed with highly skilled personnel whose main objective is to commercialize safe, reproducible and economical processes to proprietary or custom products. Over half of our R&D staff hold advanced degrees including a number of PHD’s. During the development effort, the R&D department works closely with all the other departments to minimize the development time for the product.

The Shepherd Chemical Operations and Process Technology Departments are staffed with chemists and chemical engineers comprising a broad and diverse range of talents and capabilities. The Process Technology group is charged with improving the quality and economics of all our products. This group also leads our scale-up efforts across teams made up of R&D, Manufacturing and EHS&S departments to transition new processes to the manufacturing facility. Members of both the Process Technology and R&D departments are part of the Start-up Team that supports any new process that is transitioned to the manufacturing facility.

The technical expertise within Shepherd’s ranks is complemented by recognized industry expertise and experience. Our employees have numerous years of experience in the metals, acids, bases, organic compounds and additives handled at our facilities. Our experience in handling and the chemistry of these compounds allows us to safely and efficiently manufacture the target compounds for our customer’s products. Our experience extends to the complete characterization of the compounds we manufacture in order to describe and understand our products in our customer’s applications.
