Aluminum
|
A silvery-white metallic element in group III of the periodic table. Aluminum is the most abundant metallic element in the earth’s crust. It is rarely found free in nature and exists almost exclusively as compounds such as Aluminum Oxide and Potassium Aluminum Sulfate.
Aluminum compounds cover a broad range of uses. As sulfates they are utilized for water treatment applications, various forms are utilized in personal care products such as antiperspirant and antacid formulations. Aluminum compounds are utilized extensively in the chemical and refining industries as acid catalysts and catalyst supports.
