At Shepherd, our work to improve the value of our offer to the marketplace is an ongoing effort. To achieve this, we strive to continually develop new and unique products, capabilities, and technologies to compliment our existing standard product line. Listed below are a few of the areas which Shepherd has on-going development programs. Particulate Control
At Shepherd our quest to enhance our technology is an on-going commitment. Our developmental work in the area of particle control builds upon a significant amount of industry leading expertise. Our current development work in this area focuses on the ability to control particle and surface properties of our inorganic products. This includes direct control of key attributes such as surface area, crystallinity, shape, and particle size. We also have on-going programs to develop our inorganic products in small particle sizes as a way to increase their activities. All of this development work is linked with our proven scale-up capability so that as we develop our technologies we can put them to work for you on a commercial scale in a timely manner.
Metal Carboxylates
Our development work in this area serves to expand our capability and chemistry. We are currently broadening our expertise through a wider range of metals and ligand combinations. We have developed products using Titanium, Gadolinium, Neodymium, Yttrium, Gallium, Strontium, and Indium. Our development of new compounds includes a wide variety of acids from both natural and synthetic sources. Our development work includes ultrahigh purity, anhydrous, and low acid versions of these compounds for a variety of applications. As with all of our development work, our scale-up capability means that you will have commercial quantities of these compounds in a short timeframe.
Organometallics
Shepherd Chemical is broadening its capability in the area of metal based chemistry through its on-going work in the area of organometallic compounds. This capability complements our existing Carboxylates product line. Our current work in this area is being carried out at our Norwood facility. Our capabilities include the synthesis and manufacture of coordination compounds and organometallic compounds.
