|
Manganese is a hard and brittle metal with a grey-white appearance. It is found in its elemental form as well as numerous minerals in nature. Manganese occurs principally as pyrolusite (MnO2) which is the primary source for extraction and mining.
Nearly 90% of all the manganese produced in the world is used in the manufacture of steel. This metal also has numerous important uses in its various chemical forms. It is a required trace element for living beings. The manganese III & IV forms are used in catalysts in chemical processes as oxidizing agents. Manganese is also a primary ingredient in dry cell batteries.
Shepherd manufactures both inorganic and organic forms of manganese. These products can be customized for specific applications based on the customer’s application. |
