Molybdenum
|
Molybdenum is a grey metallic element mined primarily as the mineral molybdenite (MoS2). Molybdenum is mined as both a byproduct metal and a primary ore.
The metal’s high melting point lends itself to applications where heat resistance is critical such as missile parts, aircraft parts, and nuclear power plants. Molybdenum disulfide is widely used in lubricants owing to its platelike structure. Molybdenum is also a key component of refinery desulfurization catalysts.
Shepherd chemical manufactures organic molybdenum compounds which can be used in a range of applications. We are able to tailor the properties of our compounds to meet the needs of the customer and application. |
