Neodymium is a silvery white metal with a yellowish tinge. It is not found freely in the earth in its metal form. Recovery of Neodymium is accomplished via an ion exchange process of monazite sand, a material rich in rare earth metals.
Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets known. The metal is also used in glass to filter out specific ranges of the spectra. Shepherd offers Neodymium in organic form primarily for catalyst use.
