Yttrium

Yttrium is a silver metal which is extracted from minerals such as monazite along with other rare earth minerals.

Yttrium compounds are used to produce the red hue in color televisions. Yttrium / Iron compounds are used as filters in microwave communications equipment. Yttrium stabilized zirconia is used in high temperature applications such as ceramics and fuel cells.
