SHEPHERD CHEMICAL SIGNS 10-YEAR MANUFACTURING PARTNERSHIP WITH RED AVENUE

The Shepherd Chemical Company is pleased to announce the establishment of a manufacturing partnership with its long time and trusted friends at The Red Avenue Chemical Company, Shanghai, China, for certain of its products for the Chinese chemical market.

Red Avenue was founded at Shanghai in 1999 and has served Shepherd Chemical since 2002 as its distributor of rubber Adhesion promotors for the radial tire industry in China. The evolution of an ever closer relationship between the two companies has culminated in this manufacturing partnership.

Shepherd Chemical was founded at Norwood, Ohio, USA, in 1916, and makes a wide range of metal chemicals, including bismuth, chromium, cobalt, copper, molybdenum, nickel, and zinc compounds for a wide variety of applications across the chemical industry.

Zhou Jianhui, President of Red Avenue New Materials Group, says: “As a company with strong social responsibilities, we are committed to providing our best help to our upstream and downstream green industry chains, as well as to solving the global environmental challenges. We are honored in cooperating with Shepherd to deploy cutting-edge new materials with innovative manufacturing technology. We will work together to develop new catalyst market(s) in China and promote the development of the new materials industry.”

Ric Towner, President and GM of The Shepherd Chemical Company:  “To be the best value catalyst partner for customers in China it is critical that Shepherd’s products are manufactured in China.  The COVID-19 pandemic has made even clearer the need for resilient local supply chains and partnering with Red Avenue is a great way for us to serve our customers.  With Red Avenue we can confidently manufacture in China, for Chinese customers with a trusted partner.  Shepherd’s core purpose rests on the foundation of long term relationships and we look forward to expanding our relationship with Red Avenue for decades to come.”

SHEPHERD CHEMICAL EMPLOYEES SUPPORT BABY BEAR EVENT

Even during these trying times, we continue to positively impact our communities and society. A group of Shepherd’s 2nd shift chemical operators helped make a recent Baby Bear event a success and had a great time doing it!

Baby Bear is a program for Norwood, Ohio residents who take care of children up to 5 years old. Twice a month, parents and care providers are invited to Baby Bear events to “free shop” for baby items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, blankets, books, toys and more. Each shopper also receives a hot meal and an opportunity to eat with others in the Baby Bear community.
