BiCAT ® 8842 is used as a polyurethane catalyst and is a suitable replacement in adhesive formulations. Bismuth polyurethane catalysts are lower toxicity and boast a selective process for urethane gelling catalysts. The best choice where hydrolitic stability is required. BiCAT® 8842 is more selective than other catalysts and provide better mechanical properties. Bismuth Polyurethane Catalysts yield a gradual increase of viscosity. The acidity of the system is a key factor in maintaining the impact bismuth catalysts have on the reaction rate.
